Flight Testing Operations
The Oklahoma Spaceport is a former military base with a 13,503' runway and 96 acres of concrete parking . Heavy jets benefit from the long runway and we enjoy an excellent climate for flight testing. We have fuel and ground support services for all types of aircraft to include contract fuel for DOD aircraft. Our experienced personnel can offer operational support for meeting the unique and varied requirements of flight testing.
Many physical benefits of Oklahoma Spaceport are the immense, clear skies, open approaches and long runways. The facility supports two runways, the 17R – 35L is 13,503’ x 300’ and the 17L – 35R is 5193’ x 75’. The airport services include a control tower: full runway and taxiway lighting , and a full complement of instrument approaches including ILS, VOR, NDB, and GPS .
The Oklahoma Spaceport can provide support for your flight test including but not limited to arranging for: site security, building and equipment rentals, garbage disposal, vehicles, water tankers, general labor, subcontractors, shipping and receiving, and administrative support as well as the usual ground support services.
Armadillo Aerospace continues to use the Oklahoma Spaceport for their flight testing of the Lunar Lander in competition in the X-Prize Cup. We are very proud to be a part of thier success and welcome them to our facility!
Rocket Racing League conducted the first flight profile at the spaceport with the new aircraft utilizing the Armadillo Aerospace rocket engine. We are very excited to be a part of this great event in history. We look forward to working with them again in the future!
